Studio Policies

Number of Student allowed per class – It is important for students to get the correct amount of attention to progress in their dance training. Each age level has been given a minimum and maximum number of students allowed to participate in class at a time.

(2-4 Yrs) 6-14 Students per class.
(5+6 Yrs) 6-16 Students per class.
(7-10 Yrs) 6-18 Students per class.
(11+ Yrs) 6-18 Students per class.

Enrollment – Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. For full classes, a waiting list will be maintained to accommodate other students if and when space becomes available. Classes are limited in size and students are grouped according to age and ability level. Classes begin in September and end in May with our annual Spring Performance. Registration fees and first payments are due at time of enrollment.

Class Placement – All students will first be placed in classes according to age. Students will be evaluated the first four weeks of class to ensure proper placement has been made. Each student will progress to the next level once they have mastered the material in their present level. Please DO NOT expect a student to be in the same class as his/her friend. Class placement is NOT made for convenience.

Attendance – Our studio requires all students to arrive to class regularly and on time. Please notify the office if you will be missing classes for an extended period due to illness or vacation. Children under 7 should be accompanied by an adult. In the interest of the children’s safety, students arriving more than 15 minutes late into a class will observe only. Our staff does not guarantee supervision of a child dropped off early or picked up late from class. If you are running late, please call the studio as soon as possible. This will ease the child’s nerves as well as allow us to make special arrangements as needed.

Observation – The studio offers an observation week throughout the season. Class observation is done through closed circuit cameras, allowing you to watch your child’s progression from our waiting room.

Monthly Newsletters – Monthly newsletters will be posted up at the studio. They will provide you with information regarding tuition reminders, dates the studio will be closed that month, inspirational dance quotes, observation weeks and any other studio updates.

Waiting Room Etiquette – We ask that you please keep the waiting area quiet and be considerate to those students trying to learn in class. Proper behavior is expected by all who enter the studio. Food and beverages may be consumed in the waiting room. Only water is allowed in the studio.

Registration Fee – A $25.00 non-refundable registration fee for each student is required with the registration form and first tuition payment to reserve a space in class. A registration is not considered complete and class space is not reserved until registration fee and first month’s tuition is paid in full. Family registration discount is as followed; FIRST STUDENT $25, SECOND CHILD $15, THIRD CHILD $5, FOURTH CHILD $0.

Payments – We take the total yearly tuition for the 32 weeks of the dance year and divide it into 10 monthly payments, the first payment is due at the time of registration, and each additional payment is due the first of each month. Monthly tuition remains the same whether it is a long (5 week) or short (3 week) month and regardless of absences. Tuition is payable monthly in advance, and due on the first class of each month. Please see our office manager Cheryl with any and all billing questions. There are no tuition refunds for withdrawal from class during any given month. Please refrain from sending payments in with younger students as they easily get misplaced. Tuition that is two months behind will result in termination of class. A re-registration fee would then apply.

Withdrawals or Class Changes – The studio requires written notice to the office to discontinue class/classes. Once you have made your monthly tuition payment it is non-refundable. You will be responsible for the full month’s tuition. A parent is responsible for letting the instructor know if their child will not be returning to a class. If a student is adding or changing a class a written notification must be given to the office before starting the new class.

Missed Classes and Refunds – There are no pro-rated fees for missed classes or holidays. There will be no refunds for classes missed due to illness or injuries. Payments may not be reduced in order to accommodate family vacations.

Make-up Classes – It is sometimes inevitable that we need to schedule a make-up class due to inclement weather or teacher illness. To make up your missed class due to these circumstances you will be given another time to attend a similar class during the week; this information will be posted on the main bulletin board. Please note that this class may not be exactly as the one you originally attend. Make-up classes are not mandatory, but are available to you. All make-ups must be made within two weeks of a missed class. Please notify the office before coming to a make-up class. NO REFUNDS OR DISCOUNTS ARE GIVEN FOR MISSED CLASSES.

Right to Cancel – A Dance Vision by Nicole reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. In this event, another class will be suggested. If you are unable to continue in the new class and withdraw, any unused tuition will be refunded.

Recital Costumes – Costumes can range in prices from $55-$65 per costume. Once costumes have been ordered, you are responsible for full costume payment, even if the student withdraws from class prior to the recital. Costume companies are general in size and are not custom fit. You are responsible for minor alterations, i.e. hems, tucks, sewing straps or snaps. Recital costumes are given to students only after the tuition, costume balance, and if applicable, competition balances have been paid up to date. Tights and shoes are not included in the costume price.

Late Fees and Returned Checks – A $10.00 late fee will automatically be added to your account after the 10th of the month. And an additional $5.00 will be added if payment is not received by the 20th for a total of $15.00. WE DO NOT SEND STATEMENTS! Once enrolled, you are responsible for monthly payments without receiving a monthly reminder. A $25.00 processing fee will be added for all returned checks. The studio reserves the right to discontinue a dancer’s classes for non-payment of tuition and fees when necessary.

Recital – As part of their participation in the show, students learn showmanship, teamwork skills, memorization of patterns, and how to express individual personalities. Dance costumes are required to be purchased for each dance class. More specific information about recital will be sent home with students in December.
